Japanese Vehicle Auctions
Japanese Vehicle Auctions
The Japanese Auction System
Vehicles at Japanese Auctions are well known for their quality, and Japanese Auction Inspectors are extremely meticulous about inspecting and documenting their findings on inspection reports. We had to be a bit sneaky about getting the above photo because photos are frowned upon in the live auction theater!
But you don't have to be there to get access.
We have exclusive direct digital access to over 25 Japanese vehicle auction houses and have been sourcing dream cars for clients in Australia since 1998.
Some car models have different names in Japan (e.g. Toyota Yaris is called “Vitz”), so if you can’t find what you are looking for, please ask. We’ll be happy to help.

PREMIUM AUCTION INSPECTION SERVICE
Japan Auction Vehicles has a team of professional inspectors rotating around most of the big auctions in major cities. For 15,000 JPY our agents can visit the car in person, take high definition photos and videos, and answer your questions. We will either Email or send the photos via WhatsApp (preferred) in time to enter a bid based on that information. Auctions only last 4 or 5 seconds so please let us know early and we can get you the info you need to make the best choice.
While we deal only with reputable Japanese government approved auctions, from time to time the inspectors can overlook something, and our agents do an extra-thorough job of getting 360 views, undercarriage shots, video and audio so you can listen to the engine as it revs, the 'whiff test' to see if it was a smoker's car, and much more. We highly recommend our premium auction inspection service for customers buying older but valuable cars such as collector’s items.

EXTRA PHOTOS
Several auctions have a service for extra photos. For 3000 JPY they will take 10 extra photos and send them to us. The auctions these are available are: USS Yokohama, USS R-Nagoya, USS Sapporo, USS Tokyo, USS Nagoya, USS Osaka, and USS Kyushu.
NEGOTIATION PURCHASES
When a vehicle does not sell at auction because the reserve price is not met, we can then enter an offer to purchase via negotiation. The auctions charge a 20,000 JPY fee for this which will be added to the purchase price on the customer invoice. Japan Auction Vehicles does not charge any extra fee to purchase by negotiation.
HOW DO AUCTIONS WORK?
Japanese car auctions are live and last only 10 to 15 seconds maximum. Many companies enter automatic bids, which means you may be bidding against a computer. We bid live to get you the best price.
With Japan Auction Vehicles, you only pay the actual purchase price, not your maximum bid.
We also have an excellent negotiation team when it comes to “unsold” cars, and do not just accept offers within your maximum. We will always fight to get the lowest price possible for you.
Japan Auction Vehicles is a 100% DFY (Done for You) service that includes bidding at the live auctions, transportation of vehicles to the port in Japan, shipping, transit insurance, customs, import documentation, and certification / licensing for Australian roads.
